Would you like to improve one of your farm dams and help demonstrate practical enhancement options for other landholders?

Southern New England Landcare Ltd is inviting Expressions of Interest from landholders who would like to enhance a farm dam on their property as part of a demonstration site project. This is an opportunity to improve dam water quality, support biodiversity, manage stock access and showcase practical farm dam enhancement works in a local farming setting.

Funding support may be available to contribute towards eligible project materials, depending on the selected dam and proposed works. This may include fencing materials, native plants, guards and stakes, and either a trough and submersible solar pump for off-stream watering or materials towards the construction of a hardened stock access point.

Grants are available to not-for-profit or incorporated organisations in remote, rural and regional Australia to deliver high priority projects in communities where agriculture is a key industry and part of the local identity. Projects must have a charitable purpose to broadly benefit their local community and contribute to the resilience and sustainability of their community for positive long-term social and environmental outcomes. 

To apply for a grant, applicants need to contact their local Nutrien Ag Solutions Branch Manager to discuss their project idea and have it endorsed. The Nutrien Branch Manager will then send a 'Letter of Support' endorsement email that can be attached to the application. For every new Honda vehicle sold in Australia, the Honda Centre donates $10, Honda Australia donates $20 taking the total donation to $30. More than $14 million has so far been donated to hundreds of very worthy causes, including empowering disadvantaged Australians, providing relief for victims of natural disasters and supporting the development of new technologies and research to fight disease.

The program gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to fund projects with a clear focus on mental health, social/ emotional health and wellbeing.

The In a Good Place program gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia, particularly farming communities, the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of community-driven projects, services, activities or initiatives, which clearly and directly focus on strengthening mental health, social / emotional health and wellbeing. The program supports community-based approaches that:

There are now two streams within the program:

• Community wellbeing for projects focussing on mental health and wellbeing within remote, rural, and regional communities;
• Farmers and farming communities for projects specifically supporting the mental health and wellbeing of farmers and the communities they live in.

The program is open to charitable projects that use non-clinical approaches to engage people, are community-based and easy to access.

Funding: up to $25,000

Australian communities are being hit harder by natural disasters more often. It takes many hands to get communities back up and running after a disaster and to build resilience for the next one.

That’s why the NAB Foundation Community Grants program provides funding of up to $25,000 for local projects that help communities withstand and recover from natural disasters.

We award $1.2 million in Community Grants each year across two grant rounds, including $200,000 available in Impact Grants for projects with big potential. These Impact Grants provide a further $25,000 to recipients to maximise the impact they have on their communities.

NAB Foundation Community Grants support community-led projects that relate to the following categories:

Training and Planning - Educational workshops, practical and strategic planning that help communities prepare for a natural disaster.

Community Recovery - Programs to enhance community connection, resilience and wellbeing post natural disaster.

Environment and Wildlife - Restoration of damaged vegetation and habitat, and rehabilitation of injured wildlife.

Equipment and Infrastructure - Tools, equipment and infrastructure improvements that help communities withstand natural disasters or recover in their aftermath.

The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Prepare & Recover program supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters through the medium to long term process.

Grants are available for a broad range of initiatives that focus on community-led resilience building in recovery or preparedness to strengthen the capacity and  capability of local people and systems, especially to manage the impact of future disasters. 

Projects that focus on strengthening local inclusion, networks, communication, information sharing, self-organising systems, local decision making, resourcing, tools and support will be prioritised.

Demonstration of project need must reference a specific climate impact or event, either historic or likely to occur in the future.

The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Small & Vital stream gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities.

There are two tiers of Small & Vital funding available:

Small grants up to $10,000 are available for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities that strengthen local people, places and climate solutions with a preference for smaller communities (populations under 15,000). The timeframe to deliver these projects is up to 12 months.

Targeted larger leverage grants up to $50,000 are available for projects that focus on strengthening the digital skills, confidence and safety of adults enabling them to get online, build social connections, and access services, information, education and employment through training, as well as acquiring the digital and connectivity infrastructure where needed. The timeframe to deliver these projects is up to 18 months.

Low interest loans of up to $250,000 are available to primary producers in NSW to fund a broad range of products, activities and services aimed at improving drought preparedness and climate variability resilience.

Program objective

The Drought Ready and Resilient Fund (DRRF) will increase the self-reliance, sustainability, and resilience of NSW primary production enterprises to manage drought.

Program objective

If you are a small business owner in NSW, the $1,000 SafeWork small business rebate can help you purchase eligible safety items to make your workplace safer for you and your workers, including managing or eliminating hazards and risks that may cause serious injury, illness or death at work.

The rebate only applies to safety items on the eligible items list. These items support safety solutions which are high level controls under the hierarchy of control.

Addition of agricultural drones

Agricultural drones (used in a primary producing farming operation with one or more of the following capabilities: spray, spread and/or visual capabilities) have been added as eligible items under the $1,000 SafeWork small business rebate. The Hon. Sophie Cotsis MP, Minister for Industrial Relations, and Minister for Work Health and Safety approved this addition in August 2025.

The addition of agricultural drones to the rebate align with SafeWork NSW’s 2025-2026 regulatory priorities relating to harm prevention associated with mobile plant, vehicles or fixed machinery. This addition will support regional and small farm operations that will benefit from the use of drone technology as a practical and modern safety tool. Boarding Scholarships for Isolated Students (BSIS) provides financial support for eligible students boarding away from home or residential fees to access education.

Scholarships are available for students in Years 7 to 12 who are disadvantaged by a low family income and geographical isolation.

The objective of the program is to provide a concessional interest rate loan to eligible sporting and recreation clubs and associations to assist with the costs associated with clean up, removal of debris and/or the restoration of essential facilities, equipment or other assets that have been damaged or destroyed as a result of the declared natural disaster.

Natural Disaster Relief Loans are only provided to eligible small business operators following the declaration of a natural disaster by the NSW Government.

If your home or essential household contents were damaged or destroyed by a natural disaster, you may be eligible for the Disaster Relief Grant for individuals.

The financial assistance is provided to help people to recover from the effects of a disaster and re-establish a basic standard of living. It is not provided to replace insurance or compensate for losses.

From $2,000 to $15,000

These grants provide financial assistance for landholders managing conservation agreement areas to improve the biodiversity value of their properties.

Conservation Partners Grants support landholders working to protect and manage biodiversity on their land.

The grants are available on an on-going basis for landholders who are not seeking or are ineligible for conservation management payments under the Biodiversity Conservation Trust’s Conservation Management Program.
Funding

There are four levels of funding available:

Up to $15,000 per year for up to three years for landholders with in-perpetuity conservation agreements, Trust Agreements, Registered Property Agreements.
Up to $8,000 per year for up to three years for landholders with a term Registered Property Agreement.
Up to $2,000 per year for up to three years for landholders with a wildlife refuge or wildlife refuge agreement or who are members of Wildlife Land Trust.
Landholders with Land For Wildlife agreements can apply to the Community Environment Network (CEN) for conservation partners grants of up to $2,000 per year.

The CEN grant can be identified by prefix "LFWBG" in recipient number.

In-perpetuity agreements greater than 1,000 Ha in size may be eligible for up to $30,000/year for up to three years. Investment at this level is at the discretion of the BCT and subject to case-by-case assessment.

Applications will be funded if they are eligible, complete and meet the assessment criteria and if the BCT has available funding.

Contributions from landholders such as labour or co-contributions are encouraged.

This program is funded and administered by NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust.
