SCU Research Survey - Timber production as a land use

SCU LOGOHi. My name is Mia Cassidy, I am a PhD candidate with the Faculty of Science & Engineering, at Southern Cross University. I’m researching the barriers to timber production on private land in the north east of NSW.
Are you a rural landholder? I am one of the researchers at Southern Cross University, who would like your opinions on timber production as a rural land use.

    Survey closes: 31st August 2021.

As part of the study I’m seeking rural land holders to take part in an anonymous survey. The survey aims to gain a snapshot of who owns or manages the land, their management practices and goals, and attitudes to timber production as a land use. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.  The results of the study are expected to inform policy around private timber production. By seeking information and opinions form the community, the policy can be targeted to the communities needs and wants.

Timber production can be a viable addition to farm income, but is not often exploited. Our SCU researchers are looking at why timber production is not part of the local rural economy.

To take part in the research project please follow this link. The survey closes on Tuesday, 31st August 2021.  For more details contact Mia by email.  Thank you!
