    Regent Honeyeater & Swift Parrot Surveys

    regent HE making nestRound 2 of  BirdLife Australia’s Biannual 2021 Swift Parrot and Regent Honeyeater survey commenced Saturday 17th July, and continues through to Sunday 29th August.

    If you wish to participate in the surveys, please contact one of the members of the Woodland Birds team: Dean Ingwersen (Victoria, Regent Honeyeaters), Beau Meney / Chris Timewell (Victoria, Swift Parrots) or Mick Roderick / Emily Mowat (NSW, ACT & QLD, Swift Parrots and Regent Honeyeaters) at woodlandbirds@birdlife.org.au.

    Hint: Some key feed tree species worth looking out for during your surveys in Round 2, which may be starting to come into flower (depending on your location) include: Blakely’s Red Gum, Forest Red Gum, Grey Ironbark, White Box and Yellow Box.
