Congratulations to Moree's Amarula Dorpers, winner of the 2021 Australian Government Landcare Farming Award!
National Landcare winners, Justin & Lorroi Kikby have been recognised for their passion towards environmental excellence.
In 2004, Justin & Lorroi Kirkby bought a 280ha rundown farming block 50km East of Moree and four years later they added a neighbouring 610ha.
Seeing a challenge to regenerate what had been lost with over 50 years of pillaging with industrial methods of farming, the Kirkby’s introduced Dorper Sheep, which have the ability to cope and adapt to changing environments. By utilising low-maintenance, easy-care, efficient, fertile, moderate-sized sheep that can maintain on forage alone, we have a resilient and flexible sheep production system.
