We were recently alerted to this issue in an article from Clarence Landcare Inc.

Frogs across the Clarence Valley and more widely, the Eastern States of Australia, have been reported as sick and dying in unusually high numbers this winter. Green tree frogs are the most reported; however, there are other species being impacted also.

Whilst the cause is yet unknown, symptoms include the frogs looking sick and lethargic, being out and visible during the day and there may be a reddening or darkening of the skin.

It is important that sick frogs are taken to the vets as soon as possible.

Any dead frogs need to be removed from the environment to avoid exposure to other frogs.

Please report all sick and dead frogs to calls@frogid.net.au to ensure that the folk at FrogID are best placed to monitor this event.
