The survival of a species.
Recently, BirdLife Australia shared some very special footage from their recent release of 58 captive-bred Regent Honeyeaters. This is the largest ever release of Regents into NSW!
In October last year, the birds were released into the spotted gum-ironbark woodlands of NSW’s Lower Hunter Valley on Wonnarua Country. Click on this link to view their YouTube video. Watch as BirdLife Australia's Mick Roderick explains just how important it is to protect the woodland and forest habitat that remains for threatened birds like the Critically Endangered Regent Honeyeater.
