National Threatened Species Day is commemorated across the country on 7 September to raise awareness of plants and animals at risk of extinction.
It is a crucial reminder of the fate that is facing many of our threatened species if we don’t take action, but it is also an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the work and achievements reached in protecting our precious native species.
Of course Southern New England Landcare and its members are busy working towards improving habitat for a range of threatened species, including the koala.
