Participants needed - CSIRO study: perceptions of technologies to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

The CSIRO is currently investigating stakeholders’ perceptions of mineral carbonation technologies to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We are looking for potential participants to take part in a research interview.

We believe that understanding the views of relevant stakeholders (e.g. community members, scientists, government and industry/business representatives, and environmental groups) is important for decision-making about these technologies. We are particularly interested in the views of stakeholders with connections to the New England region.

As an environmental not-for-profit in the New England region, the views of staff and members of Southern New England Landcare will be valuable for this research, and we invite you to participate in an interview with our researcher(s). The interview will broadly cover topics related to climate change impacts, values associated with community and natural surroundings, and risks and benefits of mineral carbonation. No prior knowledge about carbon dioxide removal or mineral carbonation technologies is needed to make a valuable contribution.

Further information about this research can be found in the attached participant information sheet, including information about the CSIRO’s research ethics and privacy procedures.

Participation is completely voluntary. Please let us know if you are interested in taking part. Interviews will be scheduled at a time convenient for participants. If you feel it is appropriate, you are welcome to forward on this invitation to other potentially interested stakeholders in the community. They may then contact us directly about participation.
