North Armidale Walking Tracks (NAWT) working bee

NAWTThe next North Armidale Walking Tracks (NAWT) working bee – our first for the 2025 -2026 season - will be on Sunday 7th September, 8.30 – 12.30

Although it is very early in the season there is plenty to do:

    • Continue clearing of the tracks and fences following the snow storm that brought down a vast quantity of branches and some trees. Please bring your largest loppers! (An advance party has already cleared the worst of the tree fall between Trelawney Rd – Blue Wren Rd section)
    • Whipper – snip around the tree plantings at the Four Ways before spring growth of grasses take over.
    • Continue planting-out the border of Lomandra at the Four Ways.
    • Hand-chip areas where thistles and other annual / semi perennial weeds have germinated over the recent damp months.

The laneways are still extremely wet, so please park at the gate at the end of Blue Wren Road. We will need to carry in tools etc.
The “creek” that is now a feature at the Four Ways has a log across it that those with good balance can use to cross; or, find a stick! Or wear gum boots. Or expect wet feet.

We look forward to seeing as many as possible. Especially welcome are those we haven’t seen for a while, and new faces.

Meet at … in from the gate at the bottom of Blue Wren Rd

Please wear… Long sleeved shirt, long trousers, hat, sturdy footwear. Gloves.

Bring… sunscreen, water bottle, and a mug for morning tea of course.
Tea, coffee, and morning tea will again be available.

Hand tools… Pruning saws (hand) , cutters will be useful

Morning tea will be around 10.30

I will send out an email on Sunday morning if we need to cancel on account of the weather.

For further information phone Ken: 0428 851 952

Looking forward to seeing you next Sunday
