The next North Armidale Walking Tracks (NAWT) working bee will be on Sunday 5th October, 9.00 – 12.30.
Note that as this is the first day of Daylight Saving we will make a compromise and aim to start at 9.00 EDST
Having had to cancel September’s Bee, there is now plenty to do:
• Continue clearing of the tracks and fences following the snow storm that brought down a vast quantity of branches and some trees. Please bring your largest loppers! (An advance party has already cleared the worst of the tree fall between Trelawney Rd – Blue Wren Rd section)
• Whipper – snip around the tree plantings at the Four Ways before spring growth of grasses take over.
• Continue planting-out the border of Lomandra at the Four Ways.
• Hand-chip areas where thistles and other annual / semi perennial weeds have germinated over the recent damp months.
• Flag Ivy for treatment where it has re-sprouted in the area near Trelawney Gate
Please park at the gate at the end of Blue Wren Road. I’m hoping that, if the next two weeks are dry, it will be possible to set up a base down towards the “Four Ways”, but if not we will need to carry in everything from the locked gate will need to carry in tools etc. Currently the area is still very wet.
We look forward to seeing as many as possible. Especially welcome are those we haven’t seen for a while, and new faces.
Meet at … in from the gate at the bottom of Blue Wren Rd
