New England Landcare Network Inc (NELN) is a regional Landcare Network representing four member Landcare groups, including Glen Innes Natural Resources Advisory Committee, Granite Borders Landcare Committee Inc., Gwydir and Macintyre Resources Management Committee and Southern New England Landcare Ltd.
Its purpose is to represent and advocate for Landcare in the New England Tablelands and foster collaboration and coordinated actions towards sustainable land management, environmental conservation and empowered communities.
Position/Role Objectives
Aboriginal Landcare Coordinators (ALC) are responsible for supporting, and will work collaboratively with, Regional and Local Landcare Coordinators and Landcare Groups to build cultural knowledge and awareness.
The ALC will assist Local Landcare Groups across the region to engage with Aboriginal Communities with the objective of establishing mutually beneficial and culturally responsive land management practices.
The ALC will support the creation of culturally responsive environments that embed Aboriginal practices at the centre of their program and service design.
ALCs will participate in cultural Community of Practice activities to grow their cultural and professional knowledge and share best practice ideas across the ALC network.
