    LandArtFarm walks invitation

Dr Sandra Welsman spoke at our recent Walcha Member Muster, which focussed on Art in the Landscape. Recently, Sandra thanked us for asking her to speak and asked us to invite members and friends to her Spring and Summer 2017 LandArtFarm walks.

LandArtFarm is a private artistic venture on 100 acres of bush-farm landscape in the beautiful New England region. Their aim is for LandArtFarm visitors to immerse themselves and enjoy a unique art and landscape experience.

Since 2014, more than 50 land art pieces and installations have been created by Sandra Welsman, from scratch, from inspirations, also from visitor ideas as they start to see Art all around. The largest piece, Fence Tracker runs 1 kilometre.

Works created during 2017 including Frisson, Way off Tangerine, Star Trek, Hanging Rocksss, Scalding Red Hot, Y.A Litterati, and the Eastern Stroll, add to earlier land art pieces and installations now both embedded and evolving.

The LandArtFarm works and installations are linked by three (guided) walking trails:

    1. Middle Walk .. a 60 minute meander joining most of the art works.
    2. Around the Block .. a wander through the home art area.
    3. Road to Nimbin and beyond .. adds to the Middle Walk, the full experience 3.2km.

Last spring-summer-autumn, a number of regional community and social groups organised walks at LandArtFarm, and individuals with like interests came along on particular days for private walking and viewing tours – nearing 200 visitors in all.

Invitations to walk, talk then socialise over refreshments are extended to locals and friends afar who have expressed an interest in our LandArtFarm venture. Community and charitable groups are also welcome to make contact about possible social visits to LandArtFarm for members and friends, as occurred last season. The property is 15 km north of Armidale just off the New England Highway. There are no fees or costs for guests visiting LandArtFarm – it is for fun.
