The Northern Tablelands Local Land Services App is an excellent tool to alert people in times of emergency and target messages regarding critical issues such as disease outbreaks and flood warnings.
The free App also features links to local events, news and essential information for landholders on the Northern Tablelands. District Vet, Andrew Biddle, says the App was developed by local LLS staff to communicate more effectively.
"It's a way of getting useful messages out to people in a particular locality or industry without bombarding everybody with information that may not be relevant to them. We use the app to target messages to our customers across the region so people are only sent the information they want to receive", said Andrew.
“When a user first sets up their profile, they can specify where they live and define the information they’re after, so they only receive messages relevant to their area and their interests.”
“If we are seeing an increase in cases of bloat, we can send out a link back to a story on our web page about treatment and management.
“We might also send out reminders about a cattle field day in your area if we know you’re running stock.
“Most importantly the App allows us to get messages out instantly in an emergency”, said Andrew.
We want to encourage as many people as possible to download the App so they can benefit from the information provided and be kept up to date in times of emergency.
