RISE is a TWO DAY event that will give up to 30 individuals the opportunity to pitch their ‘brilliant idea’ for tourism innovation in regional Australia. In only three minutes, each budding entrepreneur can present their tourism idea. Participants made up of high school students, UNE students, innovators, entrepreneurs, micro businesses, programmers, regionally based tourism operators will select their favourite idea and join the team.

RISE will ignite an excitement for new business ideas within the region and bring diverse teams of people and talent together to compete for prizes in the day to take their ideas forward into development.

RISE will bring together entrepreneurial and innovative minds with varied skills, knowledge and expertise together for a 24 hour period to collaborative in the ideation process to create a viable product and real solution to a real issue affecting regional Australia.

RISE will be held at UNE Tamworth, the home of the UNE SMART Region Incubator at 24 Fitzroy Street to utilise the work spaces and state-of-the-art IT and AV facilities available within a CBD location.

Held over two days, RISE will commence at 5.00pm on Friday 16 March and finish up at 9.00pm on Saturday 17 March. Teams will work independently, utilising the talent and learning skills within their team, plus mentoring, resources and knowledge that will be made available to them through the UNE SMART Region Incubator network.
