Landcare NSW CEO Dr Adrian Zammit provides the following update for members and friends of Landcare in NSW:

Last month I wrote to you about Landcare NSW’s perspective on the failed merger of Landcare Australia Limited and the National Landcare Network.  

Thank you for taking the time to understand this issue.

Since providing our background paper we have held online forums in all regions to discuss this and other matters of importance to Landcare.

I found these forums highly informative and would like to thank all those who participated.

The next stage is to consider how to move forward. 

Landcare NSW has prepared a short paper here to prompt discussion on how to rejuvenate arrangements at a national level to allow Landcare to flourish.

This issue affects us all.  It has a major bearing on the future of Landcare in Australia.

May I invite you to hold talks in your community and provide your views to: national@landcarensw.org.au by the deadline of 31 July.

Please circulate these documents, raise awareness via local communication channels and formulate a view from your region so that Landcare NSW can be confident that any statements we make about this issue reflect the views of our members and the NSW Landcare community.

You may also wish to talk to your Landcare NSW Councillor and/or the Chair of your regional Landcare network.
