Are you and/or your staff trained in the following Chemical Accreditation Units of Competency?

    • AHCCHM304 – Transport and Store Chemicals
    • AHCCHM307 – Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases

Pesticides can be dangerous if used or managed incorrectly. Training in the correct use of pesticides helps prevents mistakes at work – keeping you, your family, the community, trade, and the environment safe.

Training in pesticides use is required under the Pesticides Regulation 2017. If you use Veterinary Medicines or Agricultural Chemicals as part of your work (this includes employees) you must complete an Accredited Chemical Training course and maintain your competence every 5 years. It is important to maintain competence due to significant ongoing developments in the number of pesticides available, application technology and community expectations regarding pesticides management.

You must be trained in pesticide use if your work involves using pesticides. This includes the use of:

    • Herbicides
    • Insecticides
    • Fungicides
    • Bactericides
    • Baits
    • Lures
    • Rodenticides (rat poison)

Some occupations that use pesticides include:

    • Farmers, market gardeners, flower growers, landscape gardeners, nursery operators, other occupations selling produce or livestock commercially
    • Parkland or green keepers
    • Ground rig operators
    • Wood preservation operators
    • Landlords
    • Those using pesticides on behalf of a local council or government agency

There are four options for completing this training - Face-to-Face, Online, Live ZOOM or ZOOM Cloud Training

In-house customised training can be facilitated, please call the Enrolment Centre Manager – Bernadette Crouch on 02 68952102 or 0429954196
