Day 1: Inspiring Presentations and a Memorable Evening:
Learn from renowned guest speakers, including Terry McCosker OAM, Walter Jehne, Dr. John Hunter, Phill Lee, Alex Dudley, Russell Young, Tony Sonter, Liz Blair, and Paul McDonald, as they share their expertise and insights.
In the evening, head to “Danthonia” for a special dinner featuring Native Angus Beef and a keynote by Dr. Pran Yoganathan. Wrap up the night by dancing to the lively tunes of the Swamp Dawkins Bush Band. Bus transport will be provided to and from Danthonia.
Day 2: Choose Your Field Trip Adventure
Field Trip 1: Our Environment
Discover the natural wonders of the region with a trip to Copeton Dam. Activities include:
- A bird walk and wildlife photography workshop with Rob Smith and Colin Ritchie.
- A fauna walk and talk with Alex Dudley.
- Native tree identification and eucalypt presentations by Wendy Hawes and Dr. John Hunter.
- A session on native grain flours and bush tucker with Kerrie Saunders.
- A native flower arranging demonstration by Kelly Paul.
Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are included, with transport provided by courtesy bus.
Field Trip 2: Rehydration and Regeneration
Explore landscape rehydration and regeneration techniques in the Swanbrook catchment.
Highlights include:
- Rehydration demonstration sites with Peter Hazel (Mulloon Institute) and Andrew Walsh (Northern Tablelands Local Land Services).
- A visit to Danthonia to observe rehydration works and a soil pit demonstration.
- Maia grazing and liquid compost presentations.
Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are included, with transport provided by courtesy bus.
