On Saturday, the 23rd of August, Sam (Armidale Tree Group) and Janeen (SNEL) hosted a Volunteer Planting event.
This was part of a project funded through the Northern Tablelands Koala Partnership.
This funding has been improving the quality of koala habitat and conserving existing habitat for koalas around the Armidale Area of Koala Significance.
Sam and Janeen were delighted to have the help of 33 community members.
It was not quite Spring, but it felt very much like a perfect day for planting.
The day was sunny, the air cool, and the soil was moist.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we had several enquiries about when the next volunteer planting would be.
There will be a similar event at Black Gully this Saturday, advertised in the eNews and elsewhere.
We will also hold another planting day to complete the project at Acacia Park.
Our sincere thanks to all those who were able to come and help.
We will be advertising for the next planting soon.
If you weren’t able to make it this time, we hope to see you then.
