There is a growing movement of farmers who are ecologically minded and understand that soil isn't just a growing medium, it's alive! Two local farming families, the Emmerys and McPhies, have generously opened their gates to give an insight into the regenerative farming practices they have applied these past few years.
Each family will share their journey of what brought them to this approach, the experiences they've had and what they plan going forward. We will be encouraging an open discussion with input from two special guests, Dr Maarten Stapper and Mr Jason Simmons.
Dr Maarten Stapper of BioLogic Agfood (www.drmaartenstapper.com.au) will be on hand to provide answers to questions regarding the science that underpins the regenerative practices used to restore a balance in soil health and fertility that produces nutrient dense food.
Jason Simmons of Overseer Agriculture (www.theoverseersaddlery.com.au/overseer-agriculture.php) takes a holistic approach to managing soil, pasture and livestock. Jason is an Agricultural Consultant to the McPhie and Emmery families.
This event is an opportunity to kickstart a Regenerative Farming Group - a peer supported network of like-minded people interested in sharing knowledge and resources and building skills to further their farming enterprises.
