Over the past 10 months, Armidale Regional Council staff and representatives from the community have contributed towards creating a ‘greenprint’ strategy for improving environmental sustainability in our local government area, and now you are invited to comment and make suggestions.
It includes opportunities for actions by Council, other organisations and the community, and it is purposely broad at this stage so that it can be adapted over time to community needs, expectations and evolving environmental conditions and opportunities.
At the last Council meeting, on 27 March, it was recommended that GreenPrint EcoARC be placed on public exhibition so that the community has an opportunity to comment and make suggestions.
It is titled EcoARC and it's main objectives and actions are grouped into nine topics:
- Transport
- Water
- Waste
- Air
- Biodiversity
- Resilience
- Living
- Future
- Global
The draft GreenPrint: EcoARC policy is on Public Exhibition at the Armidale Regional Council and at https://yoursay.armidale.nsw.gov.au from Wednesday 3 April to Friday 3 May 2019.
The community are invited to make submissions either by mail to Armidale Regional Council, 75A Rusden Street, Armidale 2350, by email to council@armidale.nsw.gov.au or dropped off in person to the Armidale or Guyra Offices.
Submissions close Friday 17 May 2019.
