For the past few months, Southern New England Landcare has been involved in developing an implementation role in the Restore Australia Project, the largest restoration project the country has ever seen.

An initiative of The Global EverGreening Alliance (GEA), Restore Australia is a massive-scale coordinated effort to restore the health and productivity of farm, range and forest lands across Australia.

The project brings together the best soil scientists and practitioners to help farmers and land managers put back carbon in their soil, restore eco-systems and provide economic, social and financial resilience for communities.

The implementation will focus on unique landscapes across the country, offering a range of opportunities to scale-out contextually appropriate restorative agriculture and ecological restoration approaches with land managers and program implementation partners.
