The years 1989-1992 saw the formation of several Landcare groups in the Southern New England. Around the same time, two amazing women began their careers in grazing and soil management, undertaking their Doctorates of Philosophy through the University of New England with one of our early Landcare groups.
We our proud to announce that we have secured both Dr Christine Jones, and Dr Judi Earl as keynote speakers at a two-day 30-year celebration event on 24-25 March 2021.
Although SNELCC Inc (Southern New England Landcare Coordinating Committee Inc - Southern New England Landcare Ltd's predecesor) didn't form until 1993, we want to celebrate the organisation, its members, and the key movers and shakers who helped it become the great change agent that it is today.
So... diarise the 24-25 March 2021 now and get your celebration shoes on as this event will be one to remember!
Call out to early Landcare members!
If you were part of the formation of Landcare in the Southern New England, we want to hear from you! The earliest groups formed in our region were BOZO, Kingstown, Harnham, and Balala Brushgrove. Maybe you were a founding member or an early coordinator or facilitator who helped SNELCC and it's groups get going?
Perhaps you'd like to be part of the event organising committee, perhaps you have a great story you could contribute or perhaps you would be willing to trawl through the early group records (we have them all in our office) to search for some memorabilia.
Contact us now via email or on 6772 9123. We are planning our first organising committee meeting for early July 2020.
