Under New England Landcare Network leadership, Southern New England Landcare is proposing a comprehensive initiative to improve farm dam health, strengthen landholder capability, deliver on-ground environmental outcomes, and explore emerging climate-related monitoring opportunities across the region.
The project focuses on capacity building, landholder engagement, biosecurity awareness, and practical farm dam enhancement works, supported by strategic partnerships with subject matter experts.
The project includes:
1. Enhanced Farm Dam Demonstration Site: funding for fencing materials, native plants, off-stream watering infrastructure, or construction of a hardened access point.
2. Enhanced Farm Dams Training and Capacity Building Workshops.
3. Whole Farm Water Management and Planning Workshop.
4. Research and Innovation Partnership: greenhouse gas monitoring on farm dams.
This project has been supported by the NSW Government through the Landcare Enabling Program Phase 3 Innovations and Partnerships Grant Program.
